Upload a logo or image and this tool uses canvas to create a 16, 32, 48, and 180px favicon PNG set for browser tabs, bookmarks, and mobile home screens, which you can download individually. It also provides the link tags to paste into your HTML head, so you can simply copy and go.
How to use
- Drag and drop a roughly square image, or click to upload it.
- Choose whether to keep a transparent background or fill it with a background color (a background color is recommended for the Apple icon).
- Save each generated 16, 32, 48, and 180px favicon using its download button.
- Copy the provided HTML link tags and paste them into your site's head.
FAQ
- Why PNG instead of .ico?
- All modern browsers support PNG favicons, and a sized PNG set renders more sharply across a range of screens. The 16, 32, and 48px versions are for tabs and bookmarks, while the 180px version is for the iOS home screen (apple-touch-icon).
- My Apple touch icon shows up black.
- iOS fills the transparent areas of an apple-touch-icon with black. Turn off 'Keep transparent background' and set a background color such as white so it looks clean on the iOS home screen too.
- Is the image I upload sent to a server?
- No. Image resizing and PNG generation all happen in your browser's canvas, and files are never uploaded to or stored on any server.
