Bullet List Converter

Turn plain lines or existing lists into Markdown, HTML, or custom bullets instantly

This tool takes line-separated text — or a list that already has bullets on it — and rewrites it as a Markdown list, an HTML <ul>/<ol>, or any bullet character you want. It's handy for bloggers, technical writers, and anyone moving lists between docs, slides, and CMS editors that each expect a different format. Every conversion runs entirely in your browser, so the text you paste is never sent to a server.

How to use

  1. Paste the list or plain text you want to convert into the input box at the top, one item per line.
  2. Under output format, pick Markdown list, HTML list, or a custom bullet character.
  3. Toggle the options for stripping existing bullets/numbers and skipping blank lines as needed.
  4. Check the converted list in the results box below and grab it with the Copy button.

FAQ

Will it handle lists that already start with -, *, or 1.?
Yes. Turn on "Strip existing bullets/numbers" and the tool automatically detects and removes markers like -, *, +, •, ✔, and numbered prefixes such as "1." before applying the new format.
What happens to blank lines mixed into my list?
With "Skip empty items" enabled, blank lines are dropped from the output. Turn it off and they're kept as empty list items.
Is the list I paste stored on a server?
No. Everything is converted on the fly inside your browser, and your text never leaves your device.
