Pressure Unit Converter

Convert between atm, bar, Pa, psi, and mmHg, with reference points like atmospheric pressure and tire pressure

Convert pressure between pascals (Pa), atmospheres (atm), bar, psi, and mmHg in real time. Reference values for standard atmospheric pressure, car tire pressure, blood pressure, and other everyday benchmarks let you put any reading in context.

How to use

  1. Enter a number in the field for the pressure unit you already have.
  2. The other four units convert instantly and stay in sync as you type.
  3. Check the reference pressures listed below, and copy one or apply it to the calculator with a single click.

FAQ

How many pascals are in 1 atmosphere (atm)?
Standard atmospheric pressure of 1 atm is defined as exactly 101,325 Pa — about 101.3 kPa, 1.013 bar, or 14.7 psi.
What does the PSI number on my car tire mean?
PSI (pounds per square inch) is an imperial pressure unit measuring how many pounds of force press on each square inch of area. Most passenger car tires call for roughly 32 to 36 psi.
Is the pressure shown on a tire gauge absolute pressure or gauge pressure?
Tire gauges — and the everyday pressure figures this calculator handles — read gauge pressure, which treats normal atmospheric pressure as the zero point. To convert to absolute pressure (which treats a perfect vacuum as zero), just add standard atmospheric pressure (about 101.3 kPa, or 14.7 psi) to the gauge reading.
