Upload an image containing a QR code or turn on your camera to read its contents instantly. Recognized links open right away and text can be copied to the clipboard, so you can check QR codes in your browser without installing an app.
How to use
- Upload a QR photo in the 'From image' tab, or start scanning in the 'From camera' tab.
- In camera mode, hold the QR within the frame and it's recognized automatically.
- Copy the recognized content, or if it's a link, tap 'Open link' to go to it.
FAQ
- Camera scanning doesn't work and says 'not supported'.
- This tool uses the browser's built-in QR recognition (the BarcodeDetector API). It works well in the latest Chrome and Edge (including Android), and in unsupported browsers even image-upload recognition may be limited.
- The camera won't turn on.
- Check that you've granted the browser camera permission and that no other app is using the camera. Also, camera access is only allowed over a secure connection (https).
- Are my scanned images or video sent to a server?
- No. Both images and camera video are analyzed only in your browser on your device and are never sent to or stored on a server. That said, when opening a link inside a QR code, make sure the address is trustworthy.
