Blur & Dim Background Generator
Load an image, combine a blur filter with a dark overlay, and render a ready-made background for carousel slides and thumbnails.
Busy photos fight with your headline. This tool blurs your source image and layers a semi-transparent dark overlay on top of it, rendering a high-contrast 1:1 background that body text actually reads well against — built for social carousel slides and blog thumbnails.

FAQ
- Why add a dark overlay instead of just blurring the image?
- Blur on its own doesn't help much when white text lands on a bright, busy area — an open sky or a light source, say. A thin layer of semi-transparent black knocks those highlights down so any typeface reads crisply and looks more polished.
- Does the caption text I type in the preview get saved into the downloaded image?
- No. That text is only a live preview to check legibility — the file you download contains just the clean background, with no text baked in.
- What happens if I push the blur intensity too high?
- Cranking the blur beyond what's needed erases most of the background photo's shape and color, leaving what looks like a flat, generic wash — and along with it, any sense of your brand or product disappears. It's best to apply only as much blur as needed for the text to stay readable and check the balance in the preview.
