Distance, Speed, and Time Calculator

Enter any two of distance (D), speed (S), and time (T) to solve for the third, with a visual formula diagram

Solve for distance, speed, or time using the classic D = S × T relationship: enter any two values and the calculator works out the third precisely. An intuitive triangle-style diagram maps out how the three formulas connect, making the structure easy to grasp at a glance.

How to use

  1. Pick the variable you want to solve for (distance, speed, or time) using the tabs at the top or by clicking the diagram.
  2. Enter values and units in the two remaining active fields.
  3. Review the formula with your numbers plugged in, the final result, and the equivalents in other units.

FAQ

What are the three distance, speed, and time formulas?
Distance equals speed multiplied by time. Rearranging gives speed equals distance divided by time, and time equals distance divided by speed.
How do I convert between km/h and m/s?
1 m/s means covering one meter each second, so in one hour (3,600 seconds) you cover 3,600 meters, or 3.6 km — which makes 1 m/s = 3.6 km/h. Going the other way, divide a km/h figure by 3.6 to get m/s.
If I took breaks or my speed varied along the way, will the result be inaccurate?
Yes. This calculator does a straightforward calculation that assumes your speed stayed constant for the entire trip. If you stopped for breaks or sped up and slowed down along different stretches, the actual total time will differ from this result — for an accurate figure, use only your pure driving time (excluding breaks) together with your average speed over that time.
