Convert bulky animated GIFs into far smaller MP4 or WebM videos. There's no server upload, it's processed right in your browser, so you can shrink your GIFs quickly and safely.
How to use
- Drag and drop or click to select your GIF file.
- Adjust the output format (MP4 or WebM), width, and quality (CRF) value.
- Click "Convert" and wait until the progress reaches 100%.
- Check how much smaller it got versus the original and save it with the download button.
FAQ
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. Your GIF is never uploaded; it's converted entirely in your browser (via WebAssembly FFmpeg). That said, the first run may be a bit slow while the conversion engine downloads.
- Should I choose MP4 or WebM?
- Choose MP4 (H.264) if broad playback compatibility matters, or WebM (VP9) if you want the smallest possible file. Typically, just converting a GIF to MP4 shrinks it by 5 to 10 times.
- How much smaller does the file get?
- GIF is an inefficient format, so the same animation gets much smaller as MP4 or WebM. Raising the CRF value or reducing the width shrinks it further, and you can check the exact savings after conversion.
