JFIF to JPG Converter
Turn Windows-saved .jfif images into standard JPG or PNG that open anywhere

🔒 Everything runs 100% in your browser. Your files and input are never uploaded to any server.
The .jfif files that Windows Paint or email attachments sometimes save are actually JPEG data, yet their extension keeps some programs from opening them. This tool re-saves JFIF as standard JPG (or PNG when you need transparency) right in your browser, so it opens anywhere.
How to use
- Drag and drop the .jfif file, or click to select it.
- Choose the JPG or PNG tab; for JPG, adjust the quality and background color.
- Check the preview, then save the converted image with the download button.
FAQ
- What's the difference between JFIF and JPG?
- The underlying data is nearly identical. JFIF is one of the container specs for JPEG images, and compatibility problems arise simply because it's saved with a .jfif extension. Re-saving turns it into a standard .jpg that most programs open right away.
- Does converting reduce the image quality?
- JPG uses lossy compression, so re-saving can introduce slight loss depending on the quality slider. To preserve the original as much as possible, set quality to 90% or higher, or convert to lossless PNG.
- Is my file sent to a server?
- No. All conversion happens only in your browser, and the image is never uploaded to or stored on a server.
