FAQ
- Does it convert English letters and symbols too?
- No. Only Korean syllables are reduced to their initial consonants (ㄱ, ㄴ, ㄷ, and so on). English letters, symbols, and numbers are left exactly as you typed them.
- The quiz isn't working for me. What should I check?
- Everything runs in your browser with JavaScript, so make sure JavaScript is enabled. No internet connection is needed — the tool works fully offline.
- How are double consonants (like ㄲ, ㄸ, ㅃ) handled when extracting initials?
- Double consonants are extracted as their own distinct initial letters (ㄲ, ㄸ, ㅃ, ㅆ, ㅉ), just like any other consonant. For example, '까치' becomes 'ㄲㅊ' and '뿌리' becomes 'ㅃㄹ' — they're never dropped or merged with the plain consonant.
