🔒 Everything runs 100% in your browser. Your files and input are never uploaded to any server.

Speak into your microphone and the browser's speech recognition transcribes your words into text in real time. It's useful whenever you'd rather talk than type—meeting notes, dictating ideas, or drafting captions.

How to use

  1. Choose the recognition language, press 'Start dictation', and allow microphone access.
  2. As you speak, the text fills in the result box in real time.
  3. Edit the result directly if needed.
  4. Use 'Copy result' to grab the text, or 'Clear' to start over.

FAQ

Which browsers does it work in?
It works best in desktop Chrome and Edge. Some browsers, such as Firefox, don't support the Web Speech API's recognition and can't be used.
Recognition keeps stopping partway.
The browser automatically ends recognition after a period of silence. This tool is built to restart automatically, but if it keeps stopping, try stopping and starting again. A quiet environment and clear pronunciation improve accuracy.
Is my voice stored on this site?
No. The transcribed text is never sent to or stored on this site's servers. Note, however, that browsers like Chrome may send audio to their own servers to process recognition, so be careful with sensitive content.
