Angle Converter

Convert between degrees, radians, gradians, and turns, with a live SVG sector showing the angle's actual size.

Convert angles between degrees, radians, gradians, and turns in any direction at once. As you type, an SVG circle diagram fills in the matching sector so you can see the angle's real size rather than just a number — helpful for math homework, CAD and drafting work, programming with radians, and surveying.

How to use

  1. Type your angle into any of the input fields.
  2. Or click a preset button (30°, 45°, 90°, and so on), or drag the slider from 0° to 360°.
  3. Watch the blue sector sweep and fill in the preview on the right, and read the converted value in all four units.

FAQ

What does a radian actually mean?
One radian is the angle you get when the arc length along a circle equals that circle's radius — about 57.296°. Because it ties angle directly to the circle's own geometry, it's the standard unit for angles in math and physics.
Where are gradians used?
A gradian divides a right angle into 100 parts (400 to a full circle), which makes decimal math clean. It's traditionally used in civil engineering, surveying, and mapping in parts of Europe.
Where is the 'turn' unit actually used?
A turn represents one full 360° rotation as the value 1, which makes it handy anywhere you need to think in terms of whole rotations — rotation animations in game development, compass bearings, and heading indicators in GPS navigation, for example.
