🔒 Everything runs 100% in your browser. Your files and input are never uploaded to any server.
Upload a JPEG photo and this tool parses the EXIF metadata — camera make and model, capture date/time, shutter/aperture/ISO, and the capture location (GPS) — directly within your browser. When you want to check what personal information might be hidden in a photo before sharing it online, you can use it with peace of mind: the photo is never uploaded anywhere and is analyzed only on your device.
How to use
- Drag and drop or click to select the photo to inspect (usually JPG/JPEG).
- The extracted EXIF items — camera, capture settings, resolution, etc. — are shown in a table.
- If there's GPS info, check the location with the 'View capture location on map' button.
- Reset with 'View another photo' to inspect a different image.
FAQ
- Why do some photos show no EXIF at all?
- Screenshots, PNGs, photos sent via messenger, and files saved from editing apps usually have their metadata stripped. Also, this tool reads JPEG EXIF, so some formats like HEIC may not show any information.
- What does it mean when GPS coordinates appear?
- It means the latitude and longitude of where the photo was taken are recorded in the file. Your location — home, work, etc. — could be exposed, so we recommend removing the location with an EXIF removal tool before making it public.
- Is the photo I upload sent to a server?
- No. The file is read as an ArrayBuffer and the EXIF is interpreted directly within your browser; the image is never sent to or stored on a server. The values shown are reference information read straight from what's recorded in the file.
