FAQ
- What exactly is the 3.3%?
- It's South Korea's withholding rate on freelance and independent business income: 3% income tax plus a 0.3% local income tax (10% of the income tax). It works as a prepayment — the final amount gets settled when you file your annual comprehensive income tax return.
- Why doesn't the reverse calculation land on a round number?
- The gross figure is derived by dividing by 0.967 and rounding, which can leave a small rounding difference at the won level. Treat the calculated amount as a reference figure when drafting a contract.
- Are the amounts I enter saved or transmitted?
- No. Calculations happen entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to or stored on a server.
