FAQ
- Why does the address formatting matter for international mail?
- Sorting machines (OCR) at postal hubs parse address components based on specific rules. Placing postcodes, states, and city names in the wrong order can cause significant delays or shipping failures.
- What is unique about German addresses?
- German addresses require the postal code to be written before the city name on the same line (e.g., 10115 Berlin). Do not prefix country codes like D-.
- Where should I put apartment, suite, or unit numbers in the address?
- In the US, UK, and most English-speaking countries, the unit or suite number goes on the same line as the street address, right after the street number (e.g., 123 Main St, Apt 4B) — not on a separate line the way Korean addresses often split building and unit info. Just fill in the fields provided in this tool's template for your chosen country and it will be placed in the correct spot automatically.
