Enter your start date, end date, and total wages for the three months before leaving, and it estimates statutory severance pay using the formula 'daily average wage × 30 days × days of service ÷ 365.' You can optionally include the pro-rated portion (3/12) of your annual bonus and unused-leave allowance to make the average wage closer to reality.

How to use

  1. Select your start date and end date.
  2. Enter your total (pre-tax) wages for the three months before leaving.
  3. If you have an annual bonus or unused-leave allowance, optionally enter them to factor into the average wage.
  4. Review your estimated severance pay along with the daily average wage and days of service, then copy it.

FAQ

Do I get severance if I worked less than a year?
If your continuous service is under one year, you aren't entitled to statutory severance pay. This calculator still shows a reference figure even under one year, but displays a separate notice.
How is the average wage calculated?
The daily average wage is your total wages for the three months before leaving divided by the total number of days in that period (about 89–92 days). The annual bonus and unused-leave allowance are each added at 3/12 of the total wages.
Will the amount shown here match what I actually receive?
It may differ from the actual amount and is for reference only. It can vary based on comparison with ordinary wage, company policy, tax and insurance deductions, and how days of service are counted, so confirm the final amount with your company or a labor expert.
