🔒 Everything runs 100% in your browser. Your files and input are never uploaded to any server.
This tool compares two texts line by line and color-codes added lines, removed lines, and unchanged lines. It's useful for anyone who needs to quickly find 'what changed' — comparing document revisions, reviewing code or config file changes, or proofreading translations.
How to use
- Paste the original (before) text into the left box and the changed (after) text into the right box.
- The counts of added, removed, and unchanged lines are summarized below, with the line-by-line comparison shown in color.
- Green is a newly added line, red is a removed line, and gray is a line that's the same on both sides.
FAQ
- Does it compare by word or character too?
- This tool is optimized for line-by-line comparison. A small change within a line is shown as that whole line being 'removed and then added'.
- Can it compare very long documents?
- Yes, though if there are too many lines on either side, a notice appears for performance reasons. In that case, split the document and compare it in parts.
- Is the content I paste sent to a server?
- No. The comparison all happens within your browser, and no text is ever sent to or stored on a server.
