A tool that records your voice or ambient sound with your microphone and saves it as an audio file. You can use it right in your browser with no software to install for meeting notes, capturing ideas, pronunciation practice, interview recordings, and more.
How to use
- Click "Start Recording" and allow access when the browser asks for microphone permission.
- Click "Stop" when you're done. If needed, use "Pause" to stop briefly and resume recording afterward.
- Play back the recording in the player below to check it, then save the file with "Download Audio."
FAQ
- Is my recording uploaded to a server?
- No. Recording, playback, and saving all happen only in your browser, and no audio is ever sent to or stored on a server.
- What format is it saved in?
- It's saved in a format your browser supports (usually WebM/Opus, or MP4/M4A in some browsers). The saved file plays and imports in most players and editors. If you specifically need MP3, you can convert it with the Audio Converter tool after saving.
- No sound is being recorded.
- Check that the browser's microphone permission is allowed and that no other app is holding the microphone. Microphone access also requires an HTTPS connection.
