- What's the difference between counting with and without spaces?
- With spaces counts every space and line break, while without spaces counts only the actual characters. Applications and assignments usually specify a limit that includes spaces.
- Why would I need the byte count?
- In UTF-8, each Korean or CJK character takes 3 bytes while Latin letters and digits take 1. Some forums, SMS systems, and older platforms limit length by bytes rather than characters.
