FAQ

A business that just opened isn't showing up.
It can take a day or two after opening for a new business to appear in the National Tax Service records. If the lookup comes up empty, try again in a few days.
What does the taxation type mean?
It refers to how the business is treated for VAT purposes, split into categories such as general taxpayer, simplified taxpayer, and tax-exempt business. It's a useful indicator of whether the business can issue tax invoices.
Is it okay to look up someone else's business registration number?
Yes. The National Tax Service's business status lookup API is a public service specifically meant for checking a business partner's registration authenticity and open/closed status, so looking it up for verification purposes is perfectly fine. That said, it doesn't provide personal details like the owner's name.
