FAQ
- Do the rates update in real time?
- The Export-Import Bank of Korea publishes its base rate once a day, so the figure stays fixed for that day. It can differ from the live rates quoted at a bank counter.
- Why doesn't this match what I actually get when I exchange money?
- The base rate doesn't include the buy/sell spread (the bank's fee) on cash transactions. When you actually exchange money, a spread is added on top, and it varies by currency.
- How is the exchange rate displayed on weekends or holidays?
- The Export-Import Bank of Korea only publishes a new standard rate on bank business days. On weekends and holidays, the rate from the most recent business day (usually Friday) is simply carried over, so keep that in mind when checking the rate.
