FAQ
- Why doesn't this match a regular temperature converter?
- A regular converter adds the freezing-point offset — 0°C maps to 32°F. Interval conversion uses only the ratio of degree sizes. So while 10°C by itself is 50°F, a rise of 10°C is a rise of 18°F. Different question, different math.
- Why is a Celsius change the same as a Kelvin change?
- Kelvin just moves the zero point down to absolute zero (-273.15°C). The size of one degree is defined identically to Celsius, so any change of 1°C is a change of exactly 1 K.
- Why doesn't the Fahrenheit result often come out as a clean whole number?
- Because a change of 1°C equals a change of 1.8°F (9/5). So unless your Celsius input happens to be a multiple of 5, the Fahrenheit result landing on a decimal isn't a bug — it's just the conversion ratio doing its job.
