🔒 Everything runs 100% in your browser. Your files and input are never uploaded to any server.
Reduce a video's resolution to a standard size like 1080p, 720p, or 480p, or fit it to a custom width. The aspect ratio stays intact, and everything is processed in your browser so the file is never uploaded to a server.
How to use
- Drag and drop the video whose resolution you want to change, or click to select it.
- Choose a target resolution (such as 720p), or enter a custom width with 'Set custom width'.
- Click 'Change resolution' and wait for the progress bar to finish.
- Check the preview and save it with the download button.
FAQ
- Is my file sent to a server?
- No. Resizing is handled entirely in your browser via WebAssembly, so your video is never uploaded or stored. The first run may be briefly slow while the conversion engine (about 30MB) downloads.
- Does lowering the resolution also reduce the file size?
- Yes. Fewer pixels plus re-encoding to H.264 usually cuts the file size significantly. The exact savings depend on the original quality and length.
- Can I upscale to a higher resolution than the original?
- It's technically possible, but upscaling can't add detail that isn't there and just stretches the video into a blurry result, so we don't recommend it. Use this tool mainly for downscaling and standardizing.
