🔒 Everything runs 100% in your browser. Your files and input are never uploaded to any server.
This data-size calculator converts between bit, byte, KB, MB, GB, and TB from a single input. You can toggle between the SI (1000) and binary (1024) methods, making it useful for developers and planners checking file sizes, storage capacity, and transfer speeds.
How to use
- Select the binary (1024) or SI (1000) method.
- Enter the value to convert and choose the base unit.
- The results converted to every unit are shown in a table.
- Use 'Copy All' to copy the results at once.
FAQ
- What's the difference between the 1024 and 1000 methods?
- Operating systems (like Windows) display 1KB = 1024B (binary), while hard drives, SSDs, and carriers label it 1KB = 1000B (SI). That's why the same file can appear with different values.
- How are bit and byte converted?
- It calculates based on 1 byte = 8 bit. Note that internet speed (Mbps) is measured in bits, while file size (MB) is measured in bytes.
- Is the value I enter sent to a server?
- No. All conversion is calculated in your browser, and the values you enter are never sent to or stored on a server.
