Korea Duty-Free Limit Checker ($200 US · $150 Elsewhere)

Settle the threshold question in dollars first — then, only if you're over it, estimate duty, VAT, and the sea-freight add-on

Answers the question you actually have before checking out: will this order get taxed? Enter the item price plus local shipping and sales tax, and the tool totals it in dollars and rules on it against the de minimis threshold that applies to you — USD 200 for parcels shipped from the United States, USD 150 from everywhere else. Under it, you're done. Over it, the tool applies the duty rate for your product category (0-13% across clothing, cosmetics, electronics, supplements, toys, and general goods) plus 10% import VAT, and shows the estimated tax and the true all-in cost in Korean won. Don't know the international shipping charge? Tick one box and the official 12,000 KRW sea-freight rate is added for you. The USD, JPY, EUR, CNY, and GBP rates are all editable, so you can match the customs rate published for the week.

FAQ

Does the $150/$200 limit include international shipping?
No, the duty-free threshold is determined by the total value of the items, local shipping, and local taxes. International shipping is excluded from the threshold check. However, if the total exceeds the threshold and taxes are assessed, the international shipping cost is included in the final taxable value.
Are exchange rates real-time?
Customs duties are calculated based on weekly customs exchange rates. You can manually adjust the rates in the settings gear menu to match the current week's official rate for precise estimation.
If I split one purchase into several separate orders on the same day, does each order get its own duty-free limit?
No. Korean customs combines purchases made by the same person from the same seller on the same day when checking whether you've exceeded the duty-free threshold. Splitting an order to try to dodge the limit can actually backfire — customs may flag it as an attempt to evade the rule and deny simplified clearance altogether.
