🔒 Everything runs 100% in your browser. Your files and input are never uploaded to any server.

Reduce file size by re-encoding your video to H.264 (MP4) with adjustable CRF quality and maximum resolution. It shows the original size, output size, and savings together so you can see the balance between quality and size at a glance, and your file is never uploaded, it's processed only in your browser.

How to use

  1. Drag and drop or click to select your video file.
  2. Adjust the CRF value. The higher the value, the smaller the file and the lower the quality (28 recommended).
  3. If needed, lower the maximum resolution to 720p, 480p, etc., and choose an encoding speed.
  4. Click "Start Compression," and when it's done, check the savings versus the original and download it.

FAQ

Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Compression runs only via WebAssembly (FFmpeg) in your browser, and your video is never uploaded externally. That said, the first run has to download the conversion engine (a few tens of MB), so the initial time may be a bit slow.
I compressed it but the file got bigger.
If the original is already heavily compressed, re-encoding can make it larger. Raising the CRF value or lowering the maximum resolution will reduce the size.
Encoding is taking too long.
Video compression means re-encoding, which takes time. Since it runs on a single browser thread, setting the encoding speed to 'ultrafast/veryfast' and lowering the resolution will speed it up. For long videos, first shortening the clip with the Video Trimmer is another option.
