How to use
- Enter at least two characters of a road name, building name, or lot number in the search box (for example, Pangyoyeok-ro 235).
- Pick Korean or English with the toggle buttons, then hit Search or press Enter.
- Review the road name, lot number, postal code, and English address on the result card, and click the copy button next to whichever field you need.
FAQ
- The postal code only has 5 digits. Is that right?
- Yes. When Korea fully switched to road name addresses in August 2015, the old 6-digit postal codes were replaced with a new 5-digit system. This tool returns the 5-digit codes currently in use.
- How do I get the address in English?
- Click the 'English' button below the search box and search again to see the standard romanized address published by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. Copy it as-is for overseas return shipping labels or English-language documents.
- Can newly built buildings or recently created street names fail to appear in search results?
- Yes. There can be a delay before the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's address database is updated, so recently completed buildings or newly assigned street names may not show up for a while. In that case, try searching by a nearby lot number or building name first, and if it still doesn't appear, contact your local community service center (jumin center).
