Korea Weather Forecast (KMA Short-Term)

Hourly temperature, sky conditions, and rain chances for major Korean cities, straight from the KMA

This tool plugs directly into the short-term (village) forecast API from the Korea Meteorological Administration to show hourly weather for major cities across Korea. Just pick a city and you'll see the temperature, sky condition (clear, mostly cloudy, or overcast), precipitation type, and chance of rain for each upcoming forecast hour, with icons for quick scanning. Useful for anyone who wants a fast read on the weather before heading out, commuting, or planning a day trip.

FAQ

How often is the forecast updated?
The KMA issues its short-term forecast eight times a day (at 02:00, 05:00, 08:00, 11:00, 14:00, 17:00, 20:00, and 23:00). This tool accounts for publishing delays and automatically selects the most recent available release.
Why can I only search by city instead of latitude and longitude?
The KMA short-term forecast uses its own grid coordinates (nx/ny) rather than latitude and longitude. The grid coordinates for major cities are built into this tool, so selecting a city is all it takes.
How many days ahead does the forecast cover?
The KMA's short-term forecast provides hour-by-hour data for roughly the next 3 days (72 hours) from the time it's issued. Anything beyond that falls outside the short-term forecast's scope, so it isn't shown in this tool — for the weekly outlook, please check the Korea Meteorological Administration's website directly.
